The town has absorbed its monsters the way Margate absorbs everything, with a collective shrug.
Someone somewhere may have put in a complaint to the council, but monsters live and work alongside their human neighbours and have done for a long time, and nobody thinks very much of it.
Unless, of course, somebody falls in love with one.
