Every book that carries the Candyfloss Press name goes through a process that balances creative freedom with editorial precision. Here is a glimpse behind the curtain.
It starts with voice. Before we look at plot or structure, we ask: does this author have something distinctive to say, and a way of saying it that feels genuinely their own? Voice is the one thing that cannot be taught, and it is the foundation of everything we publish.
From there, our editorial process is collaborative rather than prescriptive. We work with authors to strengthen what is already working rather than imposing a house style. Each of our five authors writes in a markedly different register, and that diversity is deliberate.
The result is a catalogue that spans family sagas, cosy mysteries, romantic fiction, humorous women’s fiction, and intelligent thrillers, all united by a commitment to character depth, British sensibility, and stories that respect the reader’s intelligence.
